2024-2025 Arts Lead Learning Programs Announced for Elementary

Arts Lead Learning (ALL) is a program developed at TR Makers Co whereby the arts, such as visual, performing, and literary arts, are the catalyst for learning about Science, Math, Social Studies, English and more. This program helps every type of learner by providing hands-on, auditory and visual learning experiences that are aligned with the SC curriculum standards. Whether you are homeschooling your student or providing supplemental educational opportunities, these classes are a great addition to your student’s education. Register now for a single class or join us for multiple over the semester!

In Studio Attendance

Students can be dropped off for class up to 10 minutes prior to your scheduled class time. We will provide a snack for all participants and take a short break during class. If your student would rather have a packed snack from home, you most certainly can opt to bring in your own. Students are encouraged to bring a bottled water to have with them at their working station.   

Cost

$48 – Includes materials and makers tools for creating our art projects, course booklet and at-home extended learning materials, as well as instruction from our teaching artists.

Fall 2024 & Spring 2025 Schedule

Each of these half day classes will meet in the morning from 9a-12p. You choose which classes you attend and what works best for your homeschool schedule. Classes are offered twice so that you can pick which of the dates you will attend, students do not need to attend both days of a given class topic. Students must be at least 5 years old by the date of the class.

2024 Summer Maker CAMPS Announced!

Experience your favorite art studio for a whole week! A Summer Makers Camp consist of one whole week of half day events with unique project that we build on each day, learning or growing our artistic skills, expanding our creativity, and becoming more familiar with using Makers tools. Each camp has a creative theme or artist technique we will be diving deep into. At the end of the week students will have many new works, along with new skills, to show for all their time at camp. 

Event Attendance 

Students can be dropped off for class up to 10 minutes prior to your scheduled class time and picked up at the designated camp ending time. We will provide a snack for all participants and take a short break during our half day. If your student would rather have a packed snack from home, you most certainly can opt to bring in your own. Students are encouraged to bring a bottled water to have with them at their working station. During Summer Camps students may be outside, so please be sure they are dressed appropriately and have applied sunscreen before they are dropped off.   If your student is attending the morning and afternoon session, their will be a lunch break from 12-1p. You may pack your students lunch or pay for a lunch to be provided. Information on purchasing lunches will be sent out one week prior to your camp.

$210 for a single half day camp (9a-12p)

$396 for a full day of camp (9a-4p)

All Summer Maker Camps include materials and makers tools for creating our projects, as well as artist instructions from our staff of teaching artists.

Early Registration for Summer Camps will continue until midnight on Wednesday, January 31st.  During early registration all camps and half day classes will be discounted 15-20% off the regular price. Afternoon June 24-28 :: Coloration Nation

Calling all color enthusiasts to join the Coloration Nation and help create a vibrant world of creativity full of reds, yellows, oranges, greens, purples and more! Embark on a week of color exploration where kids will master fabric dyeing, marbled art, and a kaleidoscope of exciting mediums for an unforgettable, colorful adventure.

We strive, even with our youngest Makers, to have each student complete the full process of creation, from conception and sketch to handcrafting and execution of their work. We like to encourage them to try new techniques and push their artwork to new levels!

Morning June 5-9 :: Fairies, Gnomes & Enchanted Homes

Weave a fantastical tale of magical gardens, pixie fairies and gallant gnomes. Spend the week bringing your imaginative story to life by creating a woodland home for your fairies and gnomes out of natural elements and upcycled treasures. This woodland creature adventure will be memorable!

Afternoon June 5-9 :: If I Ran the Zoo… 

If you ran the zoo, what would you do? Design your zoo to keep the animals healthy and happy! Work with other zookeepers to build amazing exhibits! Even craft the creatures who call your zoo home! Go wild when YOU run the zoo this week!

2022-23 Arts Lead Learning Programs Announced for Middle Grades

Arts Lead Learning (ALL) is a program developed at TR Makers Co whereby the arts, such as visual, performing, and literary arts, are the catalyst for learning about Science, Math, Social Studies, English and more. The middle grade program also utilizes multiple sources to help our students better understand a subject area including incorporating virtual reality and guest appearances from subject matter experts of a given field. This program helps every type of learner, by providing hands-on, auditory and visual learning experiences that are aligned with the SC curriculum standards. Whether you are homeschooling your student or providing supplemental educational opportunities, these classes are a great addition to your student’s education. Register now for a single class or join us for multiple over the semester!

Middle grade classes are offered as an afternoon session (1p-4p) every other Friday during our fall and spring semesters.

In Studio Attendance

Students can be dropped off for class up to 10 minutes prior to their scheduled class time. We will provide a snack for all participants and take a short break during class. If your student would rather have a packed snack from home, you most certainly can opt to bring in your own. Students are encouraged to bring a bottled water to have with them at their work station.

$48 – Includes materials and makers tools for creating our art projects, as well as the instruction from our teaching artists and guest appearances from subject matter experts when applicable.

2022 Summer Maker CAMPS Announced!

A NEW offering to our great Summer Maker line up of events! A Makers Camp consist of one whole week of half day events with unique project that we build on each day, learning or growing our artistic skills, expanding our creativity, and becoming more familiar with using Makers tools. Each camp has a creative theme or artist technique we will be diving deep into. At the end of the week students will have many new works, along with new skills, to show for all their time at camp. 

Event Attendance

We will provide a snack for all participants and take a short break during our half day. If your student would rather have a packed snack from home, you most certainly can opt to bring in your own. Students are encouraged to bring a bottled water to have with them at their working station. During Summer Camps students may be outside, so please be sure to apply sunscreen before they are dropped off.

$145 – All Summer Maker Camps include materials and makers tools for creating our projects, as well as artist instructions from our teaching artists.

June 13-17 :: Camp Out

An “in-tents” week of creative outdoor-inspired fun! You will make your own camping gear and other survival accessories. Each day will be a wilderness adventure right here in our own greenspace.

July 11-15 :: Sketch, Carve, Create

Engage your creativity and get a little messy as we sketch, carve and create different works of art through printmaking. By the week’s end you will have created over a half dozen different collagraph, mono and relief prints on paper and fabric. Your final piece will even be a wearable work of art!

July 25-29 :: Spy Games

Equip your own spy kit! You will learn how ordinary household items can be transformed into legit gear for gathering intel and storing secrets. Use your newly developed skills to solve the Maker’s mystery of the week.

June 13-17 :: Urban Artist 

Get ready to create street worthy works of art! You will spend the week trying your hand at charcoal and pastel drawings to hide on the sidewalks, help create an art installation that will surprise trailside visitors, and create your own street graffiti through virtual reality goggles.

July 11-15 :: Oh Snap! Adventures in Photography 

Train your eyes this week as you take on perspectives in photography. Each day presents a fun new challenge to capture with your lens, from optical illusions to integrated animation in your work. You will have a portfolio of new photography and skills to take with you at the end of the week. A personal camera or smartphone may be used during camp, but not required. We will provide devices for students to use.

July 25-29 :: Potions & Pigments

Concoct colorful dyes and perfect paints! Then use your potion making skills to colorize a variety of mediums, such as clay, fabric, resin, and more.  After each portion of our Potions & Pigments class, students will use their new skills to create a finished art piece!

A Maker Day consist of a unique project, learning or growing our artistic skills, expanding our creativity, and becoming more familiar with using Makers tools. We strive, even with our youngest Makers, to have each student complete the full process of creation, from conception and sketch to handcrafting and execution of their work.
