Description
Private Homeschool Event :: Learn one of the oldest Indigo dyeing techniques Shibori, which originated in Japan in the Edo period (1603-1868). In this process the fabric is bound, stitched, folded, twisted, clamped and compressed then dipped into the natural indigo dye. It is a process that can create very intricate patterns and geometric shapes on your fabric. Maker Carrie Perry will be here with us to walk us through this fun and unique process.
The event is scheduled for Oct 21st from 1p to 3p. This project will be completed in 2hrs.
$25 Shibori Hand Dyeing Fabric – cost includes 1 napkin (feel free to bring other items like t-shirts or cotton material from home to also dye), all supplies, tools as well as instruction on shibori folding/dying techniques
