Description
Using geometric sculptures we will uncover the mysteries of pyramids and prisms today! Our curriculum for the day will include discovering the difference between 2D and 3D shapes, understanding the terminology related to flat and solid objects, applying mathematics to calculate the area and volume of our shapes and building our own pyramid and prism sculptures. Students’ final sculptures will be a great reminder of the days learning. Each student will also have a booklet they will be working in during our session, which they will be taking home. These booklets will provide additional at home learning opportunities related to this session. All students will be challenged academically and artistically with age appropriate levels in mind.
This Homeschool Study is great for all school age students (no younger than age 5 unless you have prior permission from TR Makers Co). Participating students must be registered by the Monday prior to our study session in order for us to get supplies ready for this event. We will mark this session as SOLD OUT when all seats have been reserved.
During this half day event, 9a-1p, students will be dropped off. We will break for lunch, so please send your child with a bag lunch and drink or we can provide lunch (grilled cheese or pb&j, fruit, chips and a water) for $8. Purchased lunches can be paid for when students are dropped off.
***$45 – cost includes all materials and makers tools for creating our projects, curriculum books and at home extended learning materials, as well as instruction from our studio teachers.***
