Of course, everyone knew Mort was different. Ever since that night he volunteered to be shot out the toaster to summon the dog, Rover, into the kitchen and so save them all from Mr. Lemon and his sour scheme – Mort had been their hero.
Now to everyone’s shock and surprise, Mort has announced he feels called to the Wild. None of them had ever been to the Wild. But Mort says he needs to find his roots, and a ragtag collection of his kitchen friends have decided to go with him.
Local Author and Illustrator Tim Davis wrote the popular Mort and the Sour Scheme in 1985, one of his first works of fiction. Thirty-five years and eight books later, he now presents Mort’s adventures to a new generation of readers. Davis is also known as a prolific illustrator working with Highlights, illustrating over 500 Hidden Pictures to his credit. If you are in Travelers Rest, South Carolina, you can bet Tim Davis is at one of the many local coffee shops or at TR Makers Co!
